With the increase of power. The cutting thickness of stainless steel is also increasing at the same time, with 12000W as a reference.

Currently, stainless steel can be processed to a thickness of 50MM

Currently, the following settings should be noted when cutting stainless steel above 20:

1) Full peak power, duty cycle within 50-70% (combined with thickness and speed feed corresponding duty cycle)

2) 8-10MM aperture single-layer nozzle (to ensure that the gas blows more smoothly into the cutting seam)

3) Use pulse cutting method (depending on the thickness of the plate, ensure cutting within 500-180HZ)

4) Ensure that the gas pressure is within 1.8Mpa-2.5Mpa (too low gas pressure will cause the end face to turn yellow and the texture to be uneven)

5) Use negative focus (combined with the thickness of the plate, find the critical focus position)

The above is cutting using low duty cycle and low pulse method.

Of course, you can also use the positive focus mode (about +5), full power, full duty cycle, and low pulse mode for cutting: If you use the positive focus, the gas pressure requirement will be higher. When the gas pressure changes, the end face effect will be greatly affecte

Medium and thin plate cutting

Generally, when cutting stainless steel, it is necessary to find the focal position of the corresponding thickness in order to achieve normal cutting results. From the left figure, we can see that in Figure 9, the slag is not very serious, and the focus is almost close to the cutting focus position of the normal plate thickness. Figure 10 is very obvious, the focus is obviously not pressed down enough, which leads to the remaining 1/4 position not being cut through, and the burrs are difficult to clean.

Cutting of medium and thin plates

As can be seen from the figure, we usually use fixed-distance perforation to easily produce hard burrs, which will be greatly affected when starting the knife. The perforation on the right is relatively soft, and the hand burrs on the edge of the perforation are also distributed more evenly, which can help the effect of starting the knife.

Progressive perforation is a method used in laser cutting to create holes in metal plates. This method involves a series of steps to ensure clean and precise perforations.

Firstly, the advance time is set to 600-1000 milliseconds. This allows the laser beam to pierce through the material at a controlled speed.

Secondly, full peak power is used with a low duty cycle. The power level is adjusted based on the thickness of the plate to ensure the perforation is done efficiently.

Next, the frequency is set in the range of 1000-1500Hz. This helps to control the energy delivered to the material during perforation.

The focus during perforation is the same as during cutting, which reduces the need for additional adjustments.

The perforation height is controlled at 8-12mm to ensure that the hole is created at the desired depth.

Lastly, the perforation time is calculated based on the thickness of the plate. This ensures that the laser beam stays on target for the right amount of time to create a clean hole.

In conclusion, the progressive perforation method is a precise and efficient way to create holes in metal plates using a laser cutting machine. For high-quality perforations, it is important to follow these steps and adjust the settings according to the specific requirements of the material being worked on.
